Living Sculptures

Each
year, students in FIDM's Visual Communications
program in San Francisco can enroll in a special projects class taught by
renowned designer Edward Martinez.
As the owner of Edward Martinez Fabrications, he provides unique visual services to his clients for special events, entertainment, retail design, photography, exhibitions, and multimedia.
The students in his class worked with a client on a real job to create "Living Sculptures" for a high-profile event. The event was the Stoli Art Achievement Awards which recognizes the accomplishments of artists in and around San Francisco. Awards were given in seven categories including Dance, Theatre, Architecture, Literature, Art, Sculpture, and Film.
Students in Edward's class incorporated live models in extreme poses using body paint and mixed-media sculpture to create stunning, original tableaux representing each of the seven categories.
