Scholarship Competition

Mercedes-Benz partnered with FIDM to present the Mercedes-Benz DRIVE YOUR FUTURE Design Awards LA Scholarship Competition.  This scholarship was sponsored in part by the Southern California Mercedes-Benz dealers together with Mercedes-Benz USA.

A lucky student was awarded a $20,000 scholarship to attend FIDM plus a mentoring opportunity with famous Designer-to-the-Stars (and FIDM Grad) Kevan Hall.

Here are some of the scholarship criteria that were used to select the winner:

  • Scholarship recipient must be the first in his/her family to attend college. (The student's parents/grandparents have not pursued post-secondary education or graduated from college).
  • Students must complete and submit the creative project.
  • Students must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average (4.0 scale) or the equivalent.
  • Scholarship recipient must be a graduating senior attending high school in the United States who has applied to study Fashion Design at FIDM for the Fall quarter of 2006.
